Who would have predicted that the housing market would skyrocket up in the ways that it has, in the middle of a pandemic. Sales have increased in every single region of the state of California, from the end of Spring 2020 through the last quarter of the 2020 year. There is the highest amount of first time home buyers are in the last 100 years. Migration is also at an all time high with a big percentage of homeowners selling their CA homes and buying into other counties in CA, or moving to other states for a different quality of life.
Low interest rates have encouraged buyers into the housing market, and people staying safe in their homes have developed needs for larger real estate with space for a home office, a bigger kitchen to cook 3 meals per day, a backyard oasis, room for kids their to homeschool, and a space for a home gym. On a more extravagant level some people have developed a thirst to buy homes with a pool or the space for a home theatre. I admittedly bought the equipment to play movies on a projector in my backyard. We all are doing what we can to make the best of our time stuck at home.
